"Footsteps of Hemingway" Bike Tour

The famous American writer Ernest Hemingway lived more than 10 years in Havana, which was a source of inspiration for some of his most famous novels. In many places the imprint of the writer was left, but his selectivity and good taste made only a few places his own. We will visit the places that he loved most and that inspired him.

• Departure from our meeting point.
• View of the Ambos Mundos Hotel, where Hemingway lived during his first stay in Havana. This is where he wrote, for the first time in Cuba, using a modest room on the fifth floor.
• We continue on to Finca Vigía, located on the outskirts of Havana, fifteen kilometers from the center of the city. Converted into a museum on July 21, 1962, it is the first institution created in the world to divulge the life and work of the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature.
• We continue our journey to Cojímar, a fishing village located to the east of the city, a place that inspired the writer Ernest Hemingway to write his famous novel The Old Man and the Sea.
• At La Terraza de Cojímar, one of his favorite restaurants, we will enjoy the sea views and taste one or two delicious cocktails.
• Later we will have a snack in the Bavarian Garden - our recommendation: the "almost" German "Currywurst" sausages.
• On our way back we will pass by the Panamerican Village and stop at the Morro Fortress, a place that offers magnificent views of Havana and its Bay.
• A local ferry will take us back to the other side of the Bay and we will end the day at the famous bar, "Bodeguita del Medio", where according to Hemingway, he drank the best Mojito in town.
• Return to our meeting point.

Important:

• You must report to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts.
• All participants must travel with their own personal insurance.
• At the meeting point, we will give a brief introduction to the electric bicycles, the settings of the clients' bicycles at each individual height and some general information about the roads and traffic regulations in Cuba.
• The guest should have a good experience in urban cycling. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
• Guests should be able to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers.
• The program is subject to change. Visits to museums depend on opening hours. Modifications/changes possible, depending on the opening hours of the museums.
• Gender of the person: female / male (including information, if any, about any special characteristics regarding the person's height, weight or any disabilities).
• For children there is no minimum age, only a minimum height of 1.40 m
• We have trailer seats/trolleys. Maximum weight: 25 kg. The number of seats/trolleys is limited and will always be "on request".

TIPS: - Light clothing and comfortable shoes suitable for walking outdoors. Sunglasses and sunscreen. Rain can be expected at any time.
