Program Details

"Havana Bay" Bike Tour

This route will flood us with impressions of authentic Cuban daily life. We will immerse ourselves in the world of the Afro-Cuban religion imported by the African slaves as well as visit the fortifications that were built to defend the city from external attacks in the past. We will go through famous places of the city as well as unknown places for the foreign visitor. The view of Havana from the other side of the bay will fascinate you, a city that shows a beautiful face to the visitor.

  • Departure on our E-bikes from our meeting point.
  • We start the tour and pass by the old hotel "Habana Hilton", renamed "Habana Libre" is an emblematic hotel of Havana, located the famous corner of 23rd and L, in Vedado, we continue to the Hotel Nacional, where Hollywood stars and members of the mafia used to stay.
  • We continue by walking along the Malecón, one of the most beautiful promenades in the world and end up at the Avenida del Puerto to take the boat (Ferry) that crosses us across the bay.
  • We will visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de Regla.
  • We will go to Guanabacoa, where we will visit the Municipal Museum, to learn a little about the history of the Afro-Cuban religion and see the oldest car in Cuba.
  • We continue our journey to Cojímar, a fishing village located east of the city, one of Hemingway's favorite places.
  • We will go to the Christ of Havana, from there you can enjoy one of the most beautiful and impressive views of the City of Havana, especially of its oldest part, as well as the passage of large ships but also the small passenger boats that transport the neighbors on both sides of the bay.
  • We continue our tour by visiting the exterior of the Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro and the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña.
  • At the end we will take the ferry back to the city.
  • Lunch will depend on our speed and the duration of the stops along the way. We have options of places where you can enjoy a delicious lunch on both sides of the bay.
  • We will continue on our tour of La Habana Vieja to the starting point.

  • Technical assistance: The circuit will have technical assistance during the whole tour as well as trained personnel to attend to any eventuality that may occur during the course.

Important:

  • You must report to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts.
  • All participants must travel with their own personal insurance.
  • At the meeting point, we will give a brief introduction to the electric bicycles, the settings of the clients' bicycles at each individual height and some general information about the roads and traffic regulations in Cuba.
  • The guest should have a good experience in urban cycling. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
  • Guests should be able to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers.
  • The program is subject to change. Visits to museums depend on opening hours. Modifications/changes are possible, depending on the opening hours of the museums.
  • Gender of the person: female / male (including information, if any, about any special characteristics regarding the person's height, weight or any disabilities).
  • For children there is no minimum age, only a minimum height of 1.40 m
  • We have trailer seats/trolleys. Maximum weight: 25 kg. The number of seats/trolleys is limited and will always be "on request".

TIPS: - Light clothing and comfortable shoes suitable for walking outdoors. Sunglasses and sunscreen. Rain can be expected at any time.
