Salinas de Brito, considered by specialists a sanctuary for Cuban birds, is an excellent refuge for more than 65 migratory species. In this region, you can observe the presence of the white pigeon (Columba inornata), the cartacuba (Todus multicolor), the tocororo (Priotelus temnurus), national bird of the island, the Florida duck, the gray pelican, among others. However, the main bird of the region is the pink flamingo (phoenicopterus ruber), a protected species.
