In this excursion you will enjoy an unforgettable adventure in the Pico Real del Turquino, the highest peak in Cuba with 1972 meters above sea level, located in the mountainous massif of the Sierra Maestra. It is the ideal place to observe endemic species, both plants and animals, surrounded by lush vegetation and very pleasant temperatures that will make your ascent a full and unforgettable enjoyment.

Details of your trip:

1 Day:

• Pick up by Jeep from the hotels.
• Drive through the villages of Contramaestre, Santa Rita and Bartolomé Maso to the information center in Santo Domingo,
• Departure to Alto del Naranjo,
• Begin trekking to Aguada del Joaquín and crossing the community of La Platica.
• Arrival to Palma Mocha where we will have a picnic lunch,

2nd day:

• Around 06.00 hrs: Breakfast and departure to Pico Turquino,
• We continue along the trail ascending and descending through the mountains to the Pico Real del Turquino.
• Brief time for a rest to replenish the strength lost in the challenge of the ascent.
• Descent to Pico Cuba, another of the highest peaks of the Sierra Maestra,
• Short rest.
• We continue the descent passing first by the beautiful waterfalls of the Palma Mocha River, finally arriving at the Las Cuevas station in the south of the Sierra Maestra facing the Caribbean Sea, where we will have a refreshing swim at the Bella Pluma beach.
• Departure by jeep on the return trip to the city of Santiago de Cuba.
