“ALTIPLANIC VILLAGES & PURITAMA HOT SPRINGS ON MOTORCYCLE” TOUR
Enter a hidden canyon populated by ancient cacti, some of them over 5 meters high. This place is located about 20 km north of San Pedro de Atacama. This is a very quiet and little-traveled walk that will make you enjoy a fresh corner in the middle of the desert.
Machuca town, a must when visiting the Geyser del Tatio, is located about 4000 meters above the sea novel and consists of about 20 houses and a church. The Puritama Hot Springs are located in the Quebrada de Puritama, 33 km to the north and at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level; it has its origin in the Andes Mountains. Thanks to the volcanic activity, the waters are heated and flow underground, until they sprout on the surface, they have medicinal properties, due to their minerals and temperatures between 30C and 33C.
These hot springs flow among the rocks, forming pools that have been conditioned to be enjoyed by visitors. The place has bathrooms and dressing rooms to the pools connected by wooden walkways.
Details of your trip
- Departure from San Pedro de Atacama, we take a transfer that will take us to the base located 6 km to the south where we will find our motorcycles to begin the journey through the roads of the pre-Andes mountains.
- Visit the town of Guatin and tour the Valley of the Cactus.
- Visit to Turipite, a town with terraced fields.
- We continue to the small town of Machuca, surrounded by wetlands with flora and fauna, which maintains its lifestyle dependent on llama grazing and later we will witness what is known as the Putana wetland, where we can see an important flora and fauna.
- Finally we will be served an incredible lunch that will be served in the support vehicle near the Puritama Hot Springs.
- Once the tour is over, we return the motorcycles and take the transfer back to our hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

**Conditions: Motorcycle tour participants require a valid motorcycle license and a minimum age of 25.
