Jeep Safari "Cienfuegos- El Nicho-Trinidad"
Trinidad, officially founded as Villa de la Santísima Trinidad by Spanish colonizer Diego Velasquez as the third settlement on the island, the colonial jewel of Trinidad is today one of the best preserved cities in the Caribbean. The city became incredibly rich through the sugar trade and the exploitation of slave labor in the sugar cane mills of the Valle de los Ingenios. Much of the heritage is still visible today and can be explored in and around the colorful cobblestone streets of Trinidad.
El Nicho, located in the province of Cienfuegos and belonging to the Guamuhaya Mountain Massif, also known as Sierra del Escambray, is a paradisiacal place where the green vegetation, rivers, waterfalls and picturesque peasant villages are combined. The waterfalls and natural pools of El Nicho provide travelers with an ideal place to refresh themselves in the open air. El Nicho is approximately 1.5 hours from both Cienfuegos and Trinidad.
