Program Details

“Camagüey's Colonial” tour

Camagüey, is a charming city with alleys full of tradition and culture and a perfectly preserved historic and colonial quarter declared a World Cultural Heritage Site. The departure will be from the Agramonte Park, located in the heart of the city. You will visit the Cathedral, the Casa de la Trova, and continuing along Luaces Street, you will arrive at the old convent and school of the Reparadoras, the old school of the Salesianas and the Archbishopric of Camagüey.

Afterwards, we will visit the Plaza Martí or San Francisco Square where you will have the opportunity to visit the church of the Sacred Heart, the 17th century colonial house - Avellaneda and General Gómez -, the oldest preserved colonial house in Camagüey - Pobre and San Fernando -, and the narrowest street in Camagüey - Funda del Catre -. We will also visit the San Juan de Dios Square. The tour ends with a visit to the birthplace of Dr. Carlos J. Finlay, the Cuban scientist who discovered the agent that transmits yellow fever.
