"One Day in Viñales" Bike Tour

An intense day in Viñales, located in the province of Pinar del Río, the westernmost area of Cuba, in the Sierra de los Órganos, exactly in the mountainous group of the Guaniguanico Mountain Range. This valley and a large part of the surrounding mountains were approved in 1999 as a National Park and, in December of the same year, were declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites, in the category of Cultural Landscape. It also has the status of National Monument, which received by resolution on March 27, 1979. We will explore with our electric bikes, without traffic, the colorful town of Viñales and its impressive landscape.

• Meeting at the meeting point.
• We start by visiting a tobacco farm and get a first hand explanation and demonstration of the tobacco growing process.
• Taste and enjoy Cuban cuisine to the fullest, the exact place where we will have lunch will always depend on our speed, the condition of the participants and the roads that can be used.
• At the end we continue our journey until we reach the Viñales Valley, "cultural landscape of humanity" distinction granted by UNESCO in 1999.
• We will visit the cave where formerly escaped slaves tried to find a home and where today, on weekends, it becomes a nightclub for the enjoyment of locals and visitors.
• We continue pedaling until we reach the Prehistoric Mural, created in 1959 by painter and scientist Leovigildo Gonzalez (disciple of Mexican muralist Diego Rivera) with the help of more than twenty farmers who volunteered for the risky task of holding onto parachute straps to climb to the summit.
• At the end we finished the tour with a cocktail.
• We will return to Havana.

• Technical assistance: The circuit will have technical assistance during the whole tour as well as trained personnel to attend to any eventuality that may occur during the course.

Important:

• You must report to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts.
• All participants must travel with their own personal insurance.
• At the meeting point, we will give a brief introduction to the electric bicycles, the settings of the clients' bicycles at each individual height and some general information about the roads and traffic regulations in Cuba.
• The guest should have a good experience in urban cycling. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
• Guests should be able to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers.
• The program is subject to change. Visits to museums depend on opening hours. Modifications/changes are possible, depending on the opening hours of the museums.
• Gender of the person: female / male (including information, if any, about any special characteristics regarding the person's height, weight or any disabilities).
• For children there is no minimum age, only a minimum height of 1.40 m
• We have trailer seats/trolleys. Maximum weight: 25 kg. The number of seats/trolleys is limited and will always be "on request".

TIPS: - Lightweight clothing and comfortable shoes suitable for walking outdoors, sunglasses and sunscreen, insect repellent. Rain can be expected at any time.
