Jeep Safari “CARIBBEAN DAY” (CIENAGA DE ZAPATA, A BIOSPHERE RESERVE)

An excursion to meet Cienaga de Zapata, important birding area, and is the largest and best preserved wetland in Cuba and one of the largest in Latin America and the Caribbean, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2000 which houses the Guamá Tourist Park, which recreates a village center Taina, set of sculptures by the famed Cuban plastic artist Rita Longa, which reproduce forms of life, food and customs of our early settlers.

This amazing tour includes snorkeling, coral reef underwater ecosystem has developed a typical and very exuberant, sailing through the narrow channels of the Laguna del Tesoro, the Aldea Taina visit and a delicious lunch.

Itinerary

  • Pick up from hotels in jeep or specialized car.
  • Exclusive possibility of having during the trip of driving and accompaniment of a specialized guide who will encourage and explain the beauty of the environment and will allow you to know and enjoy the wonderful of our Cuban flora and fauna that you will appreciate in the trajectory.
  • Visit to the Guamá tourist park, located in the Zapata Swamp, with an area of 10,499 square kilometers and located in the southern part of the province of Matanzas.
  • Visit to the largest crocodile farm in Cuba, a place that houses more than 10,000 specimens.
  • Tour by boat through the Treasure Lagoon, a beautiful natural lake of 9 kilometers, 2 kilometers in area and 4 meters deep until reaching the Taino Village, founded in 1962 on one of the artificial islands in the Treasure Lagoon, in homage to that aboriginal people.
  • Visit the fish cave, an impressive small cenote of 72 meters deep, where a great variety of colorful tropical fish and corals can be seen.
  • Enjoy snorkeling in Punta Perdiz, and enjoy a delicious Creole lunch at the restaurant of the same name.
  • Return to the client's place of lodging.
