¨CUBA ELECTRONIC TOURIST VISA¨ (E-VISA)

Traveling to Cuba in 2025 is now simpler and more modern thanks to the digitalization of immigration procedures. However, travelers must still comply with certain mandatory requirements. Preparing your e-Visa, D’Viajeros form, and travel health insurance in advance will ensure a smooth and trouble-free arrival on the island.

Requirements to Enter Cuba as a Tourist:

  1. All travelers entering Cuba must meet the following conditions:
  2. Valid passport: Must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
  3. Electronic Tourist Visa (e-Visa): Mandatory since July 2024.
  4. Digital D’Viajeros form: Must be completed prior to travel.
  5. Travel medical insurance: Required, and must include international medical coverage.
  6. Round-trip ticket: Proof of onward travel will be requested upon entry.

The Cuban e-Visa replaces the former physical tourist card. This official digital document, issued by Cuban immigration authorities, authorizes one entry into the country for tourism purposes.

Validity of the e-Visa:

  • Duration: Allows a stay of up to 90 days, renewable once (maximum 180 days).
  • Type: Valid for a single entry.

How to Apply for the e-Visa:

  1. Fill out your personal and travel details.
  2. Complete the online payment.
  3. You will receive by email an electronic visa code, which is required to complete the D’Viajeros form.

One Week Before Your Trip:

  • Complete the D’Viajeros online form on the official website: https://www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu, entering your visa number or filling out the passenger information using the link provided with your e-Visa.
  • Download the QR code generated after submitting the form.
  • Present the QR code together with your passport upon arrival in Cuba.

Important Notes:

Citizens of countries that have visa-free agreements with Cuba are exempt from this requirement.

Business, journalism, work, or long-term stays require special visa types that must be obtained through Cuban Embassies or Consulates.

Citizens of the following countries must apply for an A-1 Visa to enter Cuba: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Yemen. However, travelers from these countries are exempt from this requirement if they hold any of the following valid documents: U.S. Permanent Residence Card (Green Card), - Residence permit from a European Union country. - Multiple-entry visa for the U.S., Canada, or the Schengen Area

TIPS: Download or print your digital documents (e-Visa, D’Viajeros QR code, and travel health insurance policy). Make sure your full name matches exactly across all documents. If traveling with minors, ensure you carry the required notarized authorizations. Airlines will verify that you have completed the form prior to boarding. If not, you will be required to fill it out at the departure airport, which could delay your check-in process.
