The province of Matanzas is located in the western region of Cuba, occupying the second largest area among the provinces, representing 10.7% of the total area of the country. The territory of Matanzas is characterized by the predominance of plains that occupy three quarters of the provincial surface; being located most of the heights towards the northwest and center west of the province. For all the cultural splendor reached in the City of Matanzas, on February 17, 1860, the director of the Artistic and Literary Lyceum, Rafael del Villar proclaimed it as The Athens of Cuba, designation that has been maintained through the times and until today.
The Bellamar Caves are a group of caverns located in the province of Matanzas, which has become the oldest tourist center in Cuba. It is a dazzling trip to the bowels of the island, where you can appreciate extraordinary whims of nature, marine remains estimated at more than 25 thousand years and fascinating caves of calcium formations.

- Departure to the city of Matanzas. During the trip, views of its bridges, university, the bay (second deepest bay in Cuba), Plaza de la Vigia (foundational center of the city of Matanzas), Parque de la Libertad (landmark of the city), Plaza del Mercado.
- Stop to visit the Pharmaceutical Museum of Matanzas, the only one of its kind in America.
- Enjoy the landscape of the Yumurí Valley from the Monserrate Hermitage (true jewel of the Cuban colonial architecture for its patrimonial values of so much meaning for the Yumurí identity).
- Departure to the Bellamar Caves, declared National Monument. Walk inside the cave with a specialized guide who shows the beauty of its stalactites and stalagmites.
- Return to Varadero.

- This tour operates with no minimum number of passengers. The Agency will reconfirm 48 hours before the departure of your excursion. If the supplier decides to cancel, for reasons of force majeure or bad weather conditions, the Agency will offer you an alternative excursion or will fully reimburse the cost of your excursion.
- Once the reservation is made you will receive in your email address the voucher with the information you have chosen. If you can, please print the voucher to present to your tour guide.
- Pick-ups may be delayed up to 15 minutes depending on the number of hotels and the punctuality of the clients. The client must inform the sales office to avoid any inconvenience.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancellation is made up to 72 hours prior to the time of enjoyment of the excursion, a penalty of 10% of the excursion price will be applied.
- For cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours prior to the excursion departure time, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fee will be applied.
- Please note that cancellation within 24 hours and up to the time of enjoyment of the excursion, and in case of no-show, 100% of the excursion price will be deducted.
- Note: no administrative costs or credit card fees can be refunded in case of cancellation.
