On this occasion we propose a tour of Havana's enchanted forest, known as the Great Metropolitan Park, which is located along the Almendares River, which was once the economic backbone of the city and essential for the initial growth of the city after its foundation in 1519. During this tour you will discover a hidden castle with splendid gardens, You will walk through large evergreen trees, you can also meet devotees who practice religious rituals along the river that runs through the city and you will learn a Cuban love story that will open the doors to the past and teach us about the extravagant lifestyle of the Vedado and Miramar neighborhoods, which gave the city a beautiful forest.

Itinerary

We'll start biking in Vedado, the trendy "barrio". Later, in the Metropolitan Park, a hidden path will take us to the Gardens of La Tropical, a Cuban architectural wonder. We will cross El Bosque, another often forgotten green space. Our excursion continues to visit Almendares Park under the bridge of the same name and ends at a hidden restaurant.

Distance to be covered on the tour (round trip): 15 km approximately. (9.3 miles).

Approximate duration of the tour (total): 3 - 4 hours approximately.

**Meeting point: We'll meet at Wilfredo Lam Park in Vedado. It's also called "Park of 16 and 15". Find your guide in a neon yellow vest in front of the church. Arrive 15-20 min before departure time. Address: 16th Street between 13th and 15th Street, Vedado.

Important Notes

• The guest must have good experience in urban cycling. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
• You must have a good experience in city cycling. The terrain is a few hills.
• Children under 18 years of age can attend if accompanied by a legal guardian. The minimum age to participate is 10 years old.
• We will have to load our bikes to go up or down a road.
• Attendees should be able to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).
• You should bring lights for riding at night.
• At the meeting point, we will provide safety equipment and give some instructions for safe cycling.
• The leader will then ask for suggestions to create the route at this point. Your mission is to design an attractive 4-hour route through the city of Havana.

TIPS: • Light and clear clothing, extra water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and camera.
