“History, Legend & Tradition, Sugar Mills Valley” Tour

We invite you to get to know one of the most impressive cities in central-southern Cuba. The Colonial City of Trinidad, full of historical, cultural and patrimonial values, will be able to discover times, customs and traditions of the old Villa. It was one of the first Villas founded and declared by the UNESCO Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity.

The Valley of the Sugar Mills was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998 due to its links to the slave trade that was generated by the sugar plantations in the area during that period. This place is a living museum of the ancient sugar trade of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Description

  • Departure by bus or truck from the city or the Ancon Peninsula with guide service with a stop at the Mirador del Valle de los Ingenios to enjoy the wonderful views.
  • Visits to the San Isidro de los Destiladeros and Guáimaro haciendas, archaeological sites of great interest and the Manaca Iznaga hacienda that belonged to one of the richest families of the Trinitarian village in colonial times.
  • Optional visit to the Watchtower.
  • Creole lunch in a restaurant located in the grounds of the old Santa Elena de Sabanilla sugar mill. (Optional 10.00 cuc x person)
  • Visit to the Casa del Alfarero to admire one of the oldest traditions of the city in the workshop of the founding family.
