“TATIO GÉISERS & ATACAMENIAN VILLAGES” TOUR
The Tatio geothermal field covers an area of 10 km2, composed of thermal springs and sinter terraces, is located at an altitude of 4,290 meters above sea level, which makes it one of the highest geothermal fields in the world and in terms of extension is the largest in South America and the third largest in the world.
Machuca town, a must when visiting the Geyser del Tatio, is located about 4000 meters above the sea novel and consists of about 20 houses and a church.
Pukará de Lasana, begins as a village and ends as an indigenous fortress, its construction is estimated in the year 400 A.D. approximately.
Chiu Chiu This village is home to a National Monument: the Church of San Francisco, the oldest church in Chile.
Details of your trip:
- Departure from San Pedro de Atacama, towards the Geyser of El Tatio.
- Enjoy breakfast and a bath in the thermal pool.
- Then, we will visit the town of Machuca, a small village dedicated to agriculture.
- Arrival to Valle de Lasana, where we will visit the Pukará, an Atacama stone fortress built between the 9th and 12th centuries.
- We conclude the tour in Chiu Chiu where we will visit the church of San Francisco.
- Return to the Hotel.
