Program

1st day

• In the morning, arrival trip to the city. -In the afternoon/evening: Welcome tour to Camagüey

Description:

A warm welcome among medieval churches and squares, traditional food and Cuban music

Visit the Model of the city to get a panoramic view of it, followed by a bike-taxi ride through the five founding squares of the old town where the architectural value of its buildings stands out, one of the reasons why the centre of Camagüey was declared a World Heritage Site. You will be dazzled by the history of this legendary city, its traditions and its culture, taking you on a wonderful journey into the city's medieval past. In contrast, you will be able to visit the modern Calle de Los Cines, dedicated to the seventh Cuban and international art. To finish, you will be able to taste a traditional dinner in a private restaurant and then enjoy a night of Cuban music in the Casa de la Trova.

• In the morning, Limonada and Guarapo, Peasant for a Day.

Description

Share the daily experience of a Cuban peasant family: cut cane, drink guarapo, ride horses and play dominoes

A lemonade will sweeten your welcome to a rural farm in the Camagüeyan countryside. Walk among the furrows, cut cane to make guarapo and enjoy a horse ride. The Creole lunch will be the prelude to a hammock siesta and a coffee. Our traditional game of dominoes will not be missed. Enjoy an unforgettable experience in the Cuban countryside while sharing with a friendly and welcoming family.

Description

See how clay is transformed into art by the work and creativity of a family of potters. Build your own clay pot!

This peculiar tour will take you to the workshop of the Casanova family, heirs to the Camagüey pottery tradition, where you will be able to appreciate the expert handling of the wheel, as well as learn how to make a tinajón (a symbolic vessel of our city used to collect water since the 17th century). Finally, you will be able to build your own clay pot and be part of this fascinating and creative experience.

Admire the creativity and beauty that comes from the hands of the best plastic artists of Camagüey

Our artists create decorative ceramics, sculpture and reliefs in wood and metals, engraving on real leather, painting (oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, watercolors); naïve art, ecological art, costumbrist and symbolist art. A fascinating tour through the main art galleries and workshops of the city, where you can interact with renowned artists such as Martha Jimenez, Joel Jover, Nazario Salazar, Orestes Larios and Oscar Lasseria.
