“MONJES DE LA PACANA & TARA SALT FLAT” TOUR
The MONJES DE LA PACANA are imposing vertical stone formations found in the Salar de Aguas Calientes. These beautiful rock formations, with volcanic characteristics, were shaped over millions of years by wind erosion. Lunar formations, strange, capricious, are some of the expressions that one has when seeing the Monks of the Pacana.
Salar de Tara, located at 4,300 meters above sea level, very close to the border with Argentina and Bolivia. This beautiful place has a rich bio-system that shelters numerous flora and fauna, which has made it an incredible space to walk and take pictures.
Details of your trip:
- Departure from San Pedro de Atacama to Jama Pass.
- The road to the Monks of the Pacana runs through old llama grazing lands, where animals can be seen feeding.
- Arrival to the Pacana Monks.
- Continuing eastward we will find the Salar de Tara, one of the most recognized natural beauties of San Pedro de Atacama. The tranquility of the place also constitutes, along with the flora and fauna, a precious attraction for the visitor.
- Return to the Hotel.
