Jeep Safari "The Caribbean and its History"

The Sierra Maestra is the most important mountainous massif of the Cuban archipelago, guardian of the south-eastern coast, bathed by the Caribbean Sea. The Sierra Maestra reflects a complex geological structure, with a differentiation between the southern slope, with shorter channels that flow quickly into the sea (La Plata, Peladeras, Las Mulas and Turquino, among others). Its values are recognized in terms of the uniqueness and beauty of its biological diversity, with tropical rain forests, abundant tree ferns, palms, epiphytes and other plant species. The fauna is represented by numerous species of birds, amphibians, mammals, reptiles and insects, which is why it constitutes a reservoir of biodiversity for Cuba. It also occupies an outstanding place in the history of Cuba.
