“Cycling Tour to the Big Cavern of Santo Tomás”
We have designed this tour for bicycle lovers. We will always ride on a paved road with little traffic. On this trip you will see the real Cuban houses and a pure and almost virgin nature. Most of the way is flat and downhill, but of course there is always a challenge to be taken into account. Always cycling on a paved road near mountains and valleys you will be able to see the unique landscapes, mosaics of crops and local traditions. The strong contrast between the vegetation of the slate heights, the tobacco areas and the vegetation of the mogotes is very attractive. At the end we will explore the Great Cavern of Santo Tomás, after a few hours in the warm Cuban sun.
This cave system is the largest in Cuba and is located about 18 km west of the town of Viñales in the community "El Moncada". The tour inside the cave is guided by official guides, experts in caving who will offer you before starting; a helmet and a lantern to facilitate your access and enjoy the underground galleries to visit. It will take you about 2 hours to explore only the 2 highest levels of the cave system.
The cost of the visit inside the cave is an extra charge of 10 cuc per person.
This cycling route uses the same way of going and returning in a street or road with good conditions, the cave is not the only place of interest, we will visit the small community of El Moncada and contemplate the views from the Canopy Line as well as a quick visit to the Prehistoric Mural.

TIPS: • Light clothing, water, light meals with sweets and proteins, sunglasses, caps or hats, hard tennis shoes, hiking boots or sandals, in addition to layers or other protection for the rainy season, sunscreen, insect repellent and camera.

• We recommend starting the tour at nine in the morning (09:00 hrs) but you decide the departure time of your excursion, we want to help their plans at any time of day. Time recommended for the excursion 5 hours. 3 hours is the recommended minimum time for Cycling tour.
• In the summer season we are open from 08:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs / In the winter season we are open from 06:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.

Cancellation Policy • In case of cancellation up to 72 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 10% of the excursion fare will be charged. • Regarding cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Cancellations reported within 24 hours before the departure time and No-Show (no presentation at departure time), a penalty of 100% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
