“Horseback Riding to Waterfall El Pilón” Tour
We have designed this tour to offer the visitor an experience where history and nature are mixed. This horseback ride is a beautiful interaction with our culture in rural areas where the landscape and the experience on horseback make it an unforgettable memory.
The tour begins with a short walk through the lower part of the historic city center to arrive at Los Dos Cañones, where a military fortification used to be, today it has an important archaeological and historical value. There your trainer will be waiting for you and will explain everything you need to know about the handling of the horse. There is nothing to worry about as the horses are well trained and know the way to perfection.
During the tour through the trails the client will enjoy the typical fauna of the pre mountain area, where the tocororo, the cotorra, the zunzún etc. live, which have a colorful plumage and happy trills. We will visit the ruins of one of the first sugar mills built in Trinidad, and learn about the life of the ancient slaves of the place.
We will visit a Cuban hut to learn about the life and customs of Cuban farmers, in this place you will be able to consume a coffee and a local tobacco. (Optional not included). The whole landscape represents the perfect opportunity for photography lovers.
We follow the route and arrive at the El Pilón waterfall, a small natural paradise of small waterfalls that descend from the Escambray to feed the waters of a crystalline river. Here you can enjoy a swim in the natural pools of the river while the farmers delight you with traditional Cuban music to the beat of bongos, maracas and guitars. The client will have access to gastronomic services, a Creole lunch of a pig roasted on a spike, or a snack (optional not included).
Description
- Walk until meeting with the trainer and the horses.
- Walk along the path to the Pilón where you can enjoy the landscape of the mountains in a natural world and contemplate the flora and fauna of the place.
- Enjoy the waterfall and its crystalline waters, there is country music, cocktails, and restaurant with optional Cuban Creole food (not included in the price).
- Return to the city on horseback.
- Then return to Trinidad to the Céspedes Park or client's accommodation.
Customer's pick up location: At the address of the hostel where you are staying or in the reference place (municipal library, located in Marti street, in front of the bank and a very popular ATM cash withdrawal place).
TIPS: • Light clothing, sunglasses, swimwear, water and light meals with sweet and protein, hats or caps, hard tennis or hiking boots and sandals, other protective for seasons rain, solar protection and photographic camera.
• The collected may be delayed up to 15 minutes depending on the number of hotels and punctuality of customers. Customer should be informed on sales desk to avoid disagreements.
• This tour operates without a minimum number of passengers. Holiadventure will reconfirm 48 hours before the departure of your tour. If the supplier decides to cancel, Holiadventure will offer you an alternative tour or fully refund the cost of your tour.

• No need to present identification (passport or tourist card) for the tour, thus avoiding losses or damage thereto.
Cancellation Policy • In case of cancellation up to 72 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 10% of the excursion fare will be charged. • Regarding cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Cancellations reported within 24 hours before the departure time and No-Show (no presentation at departure time), a penalty of 100% of the excursion fare will be applied. • Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
