Program Details

"A Cuban Experience" Tour

  • Pick up at hotels.

  • Tour Guide

  • Panoramic tour of the hotels.

  • Visit to the "Pueblo del Sol". This small village called "Isla del Sol" is located northwest of Cayo Largo, 1.5 km from the airport and about 8 km from the hotel zone. It is not really a "village" as such, because nobody lives there permanently. Some tourist services and facilities can be found in the village, as well as many apartment buildings for hotel staff.

  • Visit to the Turtle Rescue Center. This project essentially aims to increase the survival rate of sea turtles from egg laying to the release of hatchlings into the sea. Every year, from April to September, the beaches of Cayo Largo become a nesting site for hundreds of sea turtles. Normally during the night (from 22:00 to 06:00), the females come up to nest on deserted beaches, but also on hotel beaches. They dig nests in which they lay their eggs (about 100-120), bury them and then return to the sea. The most common species on the beaches of Cayo Largo are: Loggerhead turtle (Caretta Caretta), hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys Imbricata) and green turtle (Chelonia Mydas).

  • Visit to Casa Del Campesino, Cuban experience tour, includes Creole lunch with liquids.

  • Coctail Canchánchara, road coffee and recreational activity.

  • Transfer back to the hotel in Cayo Largo del Sur.

TIPS: - Recommended: light clothing, sunglasses, hats or caps, tennis, sandals or comfortable shoes, sunscreen, camera and water bottle.
